Send EmailFor over twenty years, Jennifer Lazor has devoted her law practice exclusively to Family Law matters. For more than a decade Jennifer has been Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as Matrimonial Trial Attorney. She is also a qualified Family Law Mediator. Jennifer is recognized as a “Super Lawyer” and a “Best Lawyer” in the areas of Family Law and Family Law Mediation.* She was previously a “New Jersey Rising Star” in Family Law.
Jennifer is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, including its Family Law Section, and the Morris and Essex County Bar Associations, also inclusive of their Family Law Sections. Jennifer serves as a Morris County Matrimonial Early Settlement Panelist, which is a type of volunteer mediator for the courts. She formerly was a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Family Practice Committee, serving as Co-Chair of the Non-Dissolution Subcommittee for part of her term. Jennifer also served two terms as a member of the District XA Ethics Committee. These activities connect Jennifer to a variety of insights and resources to better serve her clients.
Jennifer handles matters with complex financial issues, such as business valuations, asset tracing, and support issues involving complex executive compensation. She also handles emotionally complex matters involving disputes over child custody and parenting time. Jennifer’s practice area also includes Family Law related appellate matters. Able to draw on her skills as both a litigator and mediator, Jennifer is well equipped to resolve difficult issues for her clients. Jennifer appreciates the importance of getting the details right for her clients whether negotiating a premarital agreement, navigating the issues in a marital settlement agreement—or litigating in court if an agreement cannot be reached. Jennifer’s extensive trial experience includes matters involving divorce, custody, premarital agreements, and domestic violence.
Prior to co-founding Lazor Rantas, PC, Jennifer was a partner of the Family Law groups at both Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti, LLP and Sills Cummis & Gross, PC. Jennifer has also written on Family Law topics, including for the New Jersey Family Lawyer, a publication of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Jennifer also completed a week-long trial academy conducted by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. She earned her J.D. in 1998 from Rutgers School of Law—Newark, where she was an editor on the Women’s Rights Law Reporter. Jennifer graduated from Lafayette College in 1994, with honors in History. She grew up in Morris County and attended high school at Villa Walsh Academy.
